Canada’s Housing Market Eyes 2027 Recovery

After nearly four decades of guiding clients through the changing landscapes of Prince Edward County real estate, I’ve seen how resilience shapes our housing market. Recent trends across Canada—improving resales, stable inventory, and prices finding their footing—suggest a cautious optimism as we look ahead. Many buyers who pressed pause are now better positioned, with stronger savings and steady jobs giving them renewed confidence.

For 2026, national forecasts expect resales to dip by about 4% to roughly 453,000, and benchmark prices to ease by around 2% to $794,000. Then, in 2027, modest gains are anticipated as both resales and prices are projected to rise in every province, though recovery may feel more gradual than dramatic. With borrowing costs hovering near lows and interest rates likely holding steady, it’s the broader economic risks—like trade tensions and energy shocks—that remain on my radar.

As always, I’m focused on what these national patterns mean for our unique County community. My commitment is to help you navigate opportunities and challenges alike, with the direct, personal service I’ve offered since 1987.
